As a Quality Checker, you will be the final line of defense in ensuring that every item leaving our warehouse meets Absolute Pets’ stringent quality standards. Here’s a detailed overview of the key responsibilities you will expertly manage:
- Precise Order Verification: You will be the crucial link in verifying that every single item picked precisely matches the corresponding pick list. This involves a thorough, item-by-item comparison to guarantee complete order accuracy before dispatch.
- Discrepancy Identification and Resolution: Your vigilance will be key in identifying and reporting any deviations from the pick list. This includes pinpointing both excess stock picks (items picked but not ordered) and under-picks (ordered items that are missing). Any and all discrepancies must be meticulously documented and reported to the relevant supervisors immediately to facilitate swift investigation and resolution.
- Comprehensive Quality Assurance Inspections: You will conduct rigorous quality inspections on all picked items. This isn’t just about quantity; it’s about condition. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that every product adheres to Absolute Pets’ exacting quality standards, checking for any signs of damage, defects, or expired dates.
- Prompt Reporting of Damaged/Defective Goods: Should any damaged, defective, or otherwise compromised goods be identified during your thorough quality checks, it is imperative that these are immediately isolated, clearly marked, and reported to the appropriate personnel for further action, ensuring only pristine products reach our stores.
- Adherence to Delivery Schedules: A critical aspect of your role will be to ensure that all store picks are meticulously checked and verified in a timely manner, aligning precisely with scheduled delivery deadlines. This proactive approach prevents delays and ensures our stores are consistently stocked.
- Collaborative Problem Solving: You will work in close collaboration with our dedicated picking team and delivery drivers to swiftly and effectively rectify any identified order discrepancies. This requires clear communication, a collaborative spirit, and a shared commitment to achieving perfect orders.
- Enforcement of FIFO Stock Rotation: Maintaining product freshness and preventing obsolescence is crucial. You will be responsible for confirming the strict adherence to our First-In, First-Out (FIFO) stock rotation process, ensuring older stock is dispatched before newer stock.
- Regular Cyclical Stock Counts: As part of our inventory management strategy, you will perform regular cyclical stock counts according to the established warehouse schedules. These counts are vital for maintaining accurate inventory records and identifying potential discrepancies early.
- Stock Discrepancy Investigation and Resolution: You will play a vital role in assisting with the thorough investigation and resolution of any identified stock discrepancies, contributing to a more accurate and efficient inventory system.
- Optimal Stock Labelling and Storage: You will ensure that all stock is meticulously and correctly labelled, and stored according to Absolute Pets’ rigorous warehouse standards, optimizing retrieval and minimizing errors.
- Upholding Housekeeping Excellence: A clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment is paramount. You will actively contribute to maintaining the highest housekeeping standards throughout the warehouse, fostering an efficient and pleasant working atmosphere.
- Strict Adherence to Safety Protocols: Your commitment to safety is non-negotiable. You will strictly adhere to all Absolute Pets’ warehouse health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring a secure working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Adaptability and Ad-Hoc Support: From time to time, you may be called upon to perform any other ad hoc warehouse-related duties as instructed by the Warehouse Manager, demonstrating your flexibility and team-oriented approach.
