Farm Worker / General Hand – Pretoria East (Available March 2026)
Location: Pretoria East (Specifically the Mooiplaats area and its surrounding tranquil farmlands)
Position Type: This is a full-time, permanent position, offering stability and a long-term commitment to the successful candidate.
Start Date: We anticipate the successful applicant will commence employment in approximately March 2026. This allows for a thorough and thoughtful recruitment process to ensure the perfect fit for our team.

About the Role:
We are actively seeking a highly skilled, reliable, and profoundly dedicated farm worker to join our close-knit team. This multifaceted role requires an individual with solid, demonstrable hands-on experience across a broad spectrum of farm operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and an intrinsic understanding of the demands of rural life.
Your responsibilities will be diverse and challenging, encompassing:
- Gardening Expertise: A comprehensive understanding of horticultural practices is essential. This includes, but is not limited to, soil preparation, planting, weeding, watering, pest control (organic methods preferred), pruning, and harvesting of various crops, both ornamental and edible. Experience with irrigation systems would be a distinct advantage.
- Building and Maintenance Projects: The role involves active participation in and, at times, leading minor building and renovation projects around the farm. This could range from repairing fences, mending sheds, constructing small structures, to painting and general upkeep of farm infrastructure. Proficiency with basic hand and power tools is a must, and experience with carpentry, plumbing, or welding would be highly valued.
- Animal Care and Husbandry: We require someone with genuine empathy and practical experience in the care of various farm animals. This includes feeding, watering, cleaning enclosures, monitoring animal health, assisting with minor veterinary care (under supervision), and ensuring their overall well-being. Experience with specific livestock (e.g., chickens, goats, horses, cattle, etc.) should be highlighted in your application.
- General Farm Maintenance: Beyond the specific areas mentioned, this role demands a proactive approach to the overall cleanliness, orderliness, and functionality of the entire farm. This includes groundskeeping, rubbish removal, equipment cleaning and minor repairs, fence line checks, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. The ability to operate various farm machinery (e.g., tractor, brush cutter, lawnmower) safely and effectively is a significant asset.
