As a Miner at Wessels Mine, you will play a crucial role in the extraction of manganese ore while ensuring compliance with South African mining legislation and safety regulations. The role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and strong leadership in underground mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that support safe and efficient underground mining operations.
One of your primary duties will be leading underground blasting activities within your designated working area. This involves carefully planning blasting operations, ensuring all procedures comply with safety regulations, and coordinating with team members to ensure safe execution.
You will also be responsible for ensuring that quality ore is delivered to the processing plant. This requires careful monitoring of mining activities and maintaining operational standards throughout the production process.
Meeting daily production targets is another key aspect of the role. You will work closely with other mining personnel to ensure that operations remain productive while maintaining strict safety standards.
At the start of each shift, you will review the production process, current trends, and operational plans, ensuring that operators and team members understand their responsibilities and objectives for the shift.
